This tune was written and performed back in 1994 by my first real band North River Company. Matt and Scott had the skeleton of a tune inspired by "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic." I wrote most of the melody on double bass - so the tune had a sort of upside-down feel about it.

One of my favorite tunes by that group.

This was the tune that launched this whole project. I recently reached out to Matt for some of the chords, and he said offhandedly, "I'd love to hear this on piano."

So I made this.
